FAQs

How do I replace a cane seat?

Just unscrew the old seat from the frame, line up the new black cane replacement seat with the holes, and secure it with the same hardware.

Installation takes just 5 minutes. All you need to do is unscrew the old piece, put your new Breuer cane replacement seats and or backs into position, and screw them back in place. Instructions are included with your order.

We do not pre-drill holes due to variations in frame manufactures, hole placements may vary.

How long will replacements last?

At home, quality cane seats usually last 10–15 years. Chairs in busier spots like restaurants and other commercial areas may need replacement every 5–7 years.

What’s the best way to clean and maintain cane seats and backs?

Dust your chairs regularly with a soft brush and wipe gently with a damp cloth. Be sure not to use too much water and keep your chairs away from prolonged sun exposure.

Do I have to buy both the seat and the back?

Nope—you can buy them separately. A lot of people only need a Cesca chair seat replacement, as the back is often still in great shape.

Super good

I’ve always been a fan of Marcel Bruer’s Bauhaus Architecture annd his Museum in NYC and of course his eponymous tube steel chair. I found an Italian mass produced version with a broken cane seat and being able to fix it up myself has been so nice. What a niche service y’all provide. Thx ?

Breuer replacement seats with cane

I have these chairs from my childhood home so now are over 40 years old. One by one, people started falling though the seats as the cane failed. We called it chair roulette. Anyway, was time to replace the seats after the 4th one blew out. These are a great solution! Shipping was quick. Just a few days. Thanks!
